Electrostatic Potential from electric force and field

Electrostatic potential describes the amount of electric potential energy that a charged particle possesses in an electric field.

It is a scalar quantity that indicates the potential energy per unit charge at a given point in the field.

The electrostatic potential has units of volts or joules per coulomb.

The potential increases or decreases based on the distance and direction of the electric field lines.

A higher potential indicates a greater potential energy.
